Does Your Website Support All Major Browsers?
The web browser market share landscape is evolving. Slowly but surely, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) continues to lose share, while browsers such as Firefox, Safari and Chrome continue to eat away at IE’s lead.
Since December 2008, IE has lost approximately 2% market share, although they are still in the lead with a 66.10% share (Source: NetApplications, April 2009). IE has lost more than 10 points of market share over the past year and a half.
* Firefox – Up to 22.48%
* Safari – Up to 8.21%
* Chrome – Up to 1.42%
Given that any website should now expect a third of their visitors to be using browsers other than IE, it’s critical that you ensure your website fully supports this spectrum of browsers.
With that in mind, when was the last time you tested your website on Firefox? Safari? Chrome?
